The basic set up
Required equipment
vivarium minimum size recomended is a 4ft vx, would not advise a viv with a hieght over 2ft as the uv rays wont reach the floor level of the viv.
1 basking bulb can be a standard house hold reflector bulb.
1 uv strip light starter unit.
1 uv strip light minimum 10.0 repti glo to be replaced after 6 months or an arcadia 12% which will need replacing in 11 months, this must cover a minimum of two thirds of the length of the viv.
1 dimming thermostat.
1 ceramic heat emitter, if your temps are to low during the night as it will not disturb the beardies sleep pattern.
Thermometer for hot and cool end, recomend the digital one over the dial type
Temps
Day time
Basking spot should be kept between 105f and 110f /40c and 43.3c.
Cool end should be 80f to 85f / 26.6c and 29.4c
Night temps
There should be an over all temp of no lower than 64.4f / 18c
Uv lighting
During winter months recomended length of time for uv to be kept on is 8 to 10 hours
During summer months recomended length of time for uv to be kept on is 12 to 14 hours
